Tether Gold recognized as Accepted Spot Commodity in Abu Dhabi financial center
Tether Gold (XAUT) has been recognized as an Accepted Spot Commodity in Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), allowing regulated firms there to offer services tied to the tokenized gold asset. This builds on ADGM’s earlier acceptance of Tether’s USDt (USDT) as an Accepted Fiat Referenced Token, strengthening Tether’s regulated presence in a major Middle East financial center. Tether said the move gives firms a clearer path to offer XAUT, while ADGM said it broadens products and services for businesses in the hub. XAUT’s total value locked has more than tripled over the past year, rising from about $826 million to $2.86 billion. The token is also gaining new utility, with Ledn planning to accept XAUT as loan collateral. Tokenized commodities now total about $4.46 billion, nearly 13% of the $34.73 billion tokenized real-world asset market.
