Elon Musk Predicts AI Will Outpace Human Intelligence as Early as This Year
Elon Musk stated that artificial intelligence could surpass individual human intelligence by the end of 2024 and exceed collective human intelligence by 2030 or 2031. Speaking at the World Economic Forum with BlackRock CEO Larry Fink, Musk argued that progress toward artificial general intelligence is accelerating faster than society expects. He predicted significant economic transformation, particularly if humanoid robots capable of physical labor are widely deployed, potentially leading to explosive economic growth and robots eventually outnumbering humans. Tesla is already using its Optimus humanoid robot in factories and plans public sales once safety standards are met.
