Epic Games hit Off The Grid wins Game of the Year at first live 2024 GAM3 Awards
Ad Off The Grid won the Game of the Year award at the 2024 GAM3 Awards in Manila on November 22. Developed by Gunzilla Games, it also secured awards for Best Shooter Game, Best Multiplayer Game, and Best Action Game. The event, hosted with Yield Guild Games, recognized achievements in 21 categories and featured a $5 million prize pool from various partners. Over 70 jurors from major gaming and blockchain organizations participated in the selection process, with over one million votes cast by 143,000 unique voters. Off The Grid is set in a cyberpunk future and utilizes blockchain technology for a player-driven economy. The game topped Epic Games’ free-to-play PC games list shortly after its early access release. Other notable winners included Parallel and Pixels. The GAM3 Awards showcased gameplay premieres and trailers, achieving a peak viewership of 48,000. The event's success indicates growing acceptance of blockchain in gaming, with analysts suggesting Off The Grid could drive a new crypto gaming bull run. The GAM3 Awards will return next November.
