Ethereum Hard Fork Fusaka To Launch In November
Ethereum core developers plan to release the Fusaka hard fork in November, enhancing network efficiency and scalability. The Glamsterdam hard fork will follow, with feature upgrades confirmed on August 1. Fusaka will be six months post-Pectra, which improved account abstraction and validator staking limits. The Fusaka upgrade will include 11 Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs), notably EIP-7825 for resilience against attacks. The gas limit may increase to 150 million, but EIP-7907 has been removed to expedite testing. Two public testnets are scheduled for September and October. Concerns about meeting the timeline for the November launch have been raised, especially with Devconnect occurring from November 17-22. Proposed future upgrades include reducing block time from 12 to six seconds, aimed at improving user experience and DeFi efficiency, potentially rolled out with Glamsterdam in 2026. Validators support raising the gas limit to 45 million to lower transaction costs.
