Ethereum Turns Deflationary With Over 106,000 ETH Burned In A Single Month
The Ethereum ecosystem has observed an increase in the burn rate, achieving its aim of making Ether deflationary. Over the past 30 days, more than 106,000 ETH were burnt, while only around 70,000 ETH were issued, resulting in a decrease in Ethereum's supply. This development confirms that ETH is deflationary, contradicting concerns raised post the London Hard Fork update. Factors contributing to the decrease in Ethereum's supply include the slowing down of new validators and an increase in validators exiting the ecosystem. Furthermore, increased network activity led to higher burn rates due to higher gas fees. This deflationary success could potentially drive ETH's price higher, particularly with an expected market bull run. As per CoinMarketCap, the crypto token was valued at about $2,240 at the time of reporting.
