'Eve Frontier' Game Trial Will Open 'Eve Online' Ethereum Spinoff to All
Eve Frontier, an Ethereum-based MMO space survival game, will offer a 10-day free trial from April 11 to April 21. Players can explore the universe, build and command ships, and face survival challenges. This trial coincides with the game's third phase, a 60-day period for new gameplay and economic features. Closed alpha access began in December with Founders Access passes priced between $30 and $90, offering perks like an “always-on” server. Free trial users will not receive these perks. CCP Games raised $40 million in 2023 to expand its gaming universe via blockchain and appointed a former Central Bank of Iceland economist as Head of Economy. Eve Frontier is built on Redstone, an Ethereum layer-2 network, supporting a multi-token ecosystem, including a future EVE utility token. Eve Online, the predecessor released in 2003, is known for its hardcore gameplay and extensive lore.
