FBI Says It Foiled Drone Attack Plot Targeting White House UFC Event
Federal authorities say they stopped an alleged plot to attack the UFC Freedom 250 event on the White House South Lawn. Prosecutors accuse five men from Ohio, Missouri, Nebraska, and California of planning to use explosive-laden drones to force evacuations, then deploy shooters and snipers against attendees and “high value targets,” including politicians. Investigators say the group discussed plans on TikTok and Signal, meeting in Virginia before traveling to Washington, D.C. The investigation began after a suspect’s family alerted police about his behavior, gun purchases, and online activity. Authorities recovered planning details such as sniper positions, drone launch sites, escape routes, and safe houses. Officials said the plot was disrupted before the event, which drew prominent political and business figures.
