Crypto PAC has $12M stake in Senate primary runoff as Alabama voters head to polls
Defend American Jobs, a crypto industry PAC tied to Fairshake, spent more than $4.7 million on ads and media to support Republican Barry Moore in Alabama’s Senate runoff, on top of $7.4 million spent earlier in his primary. Moore, endorsed by Donald Trump, faces Jared Hudson for the seat held by Tommy Tuberville. Crypto advocacy groups rate Moore as strongly pro-crypto, while Hudson is viewed as neutral, though he supports Senate crypto market-structure legislation. The race is another test of crypto PAC influence in U.S. elections. Fairshake and affiliates have also funded primaries in Texas and California and plan further spending in Maryland and New York. Other crypto-backed groups, including the Fellowship PAC, have also supported Moore. Fairshake said it had a $193 million war chest, positioning it to shape House and Senate contests that could affect crypto legislation such as the CLARITY Act.
