Grab’s Singapore Users Can Now Use Crypto to Make Payments

Grab, a super app offering ride-hailing, food delivery, and digital payments in South Asia, is now accepting cryptocurrency payments in Singapore. The feature is enabled through a partnership with licensed payments provider Triple-A. Users can top up their GrabPay Wallet using five cryptocurrencies: bitcoin, ether, StraitsX’s Singapore dollar-backed stablecoin XSGD, Circle’s USDC stablecoin, and Tether’s USDT stablecoin. This move allows digital currency owners in Singapore to use cryptocurrencies for everyday transactions. Grab has been involved in the Web3 space and in September 2023, announced plans with Circle to conduct a pilot for a Web3 wallet within the app.
