Hamas, Hezbollah Now Prefer Tron to Bitcoin: Reuters

The Tron blockchain has surpassed Bitcoin as the favored cryptocurrency network for groups classified as terrorist organizations, including Hamas and Hezbollah, according to Reuters. An increase has been seen in cryptocurrency seizures from Tron wallets since 2021, as well as a decrease in seizures from Bitcoin wallets. Out of all the seizures made by Israel since July 2021, two-thirds were from Tron wallets. Mriganka Pattnaik, CEO of Merkle Science, noted that these organizations now prefer Tron over Bitcoin. Tron spokesperson, Hayward Wong, responded by saying that all technologies could potentially be used for illicit activities and that Tron cannot control who uses its network.
