HashKey Capital Secures $250M in First Close for Crypto Fund IV

Summary

HashKey Capital has secured $250 million in commitments in the first close of its fourth crypto-focused fund, the HashKey Fintech Multi-Strategy Fund IV, surpassing initial expectations and targeting a total of $500 million. The capital came from a mix of global institutional investors, family offices, and high-net-worth individuals. This fundraising occurs as short-term crypto market liquidity contracts, with institutional investors demonstrating long-term commitment. The fund will focus on investing in blockchain infrastructure and scalable use cases, particularly in emerging markets. HashKey Capital, managing over $1 billion in assets since its 2018 launch and investing in more than 400 global crypto projects, is based in Singapore with operations in Hong Kong and Japan. It is the investment arm of Hong Kong-based HashKey, which recently debuted on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange after a $206 million IPO. Meanwhile, crypto market makers are reducing activity, and recent ETF outflows indicate a broader decline in institutional participation.
