Heatbit's $899 Water Heater Element Mines Bitcoin While It Heats Your Tank
Heatbit unveiled Bitwater, a Bitcoin-mining element designed to replace a standard electric water heater element. Its 20 Bitmain chips provide up to 34 TH/s while drawing up to 600 watts, with the water cooling the chips. The company says it fits common U.S. and Canadian electric tanks and can be installed without plumbing changes. Users can monitor performance and direct mined Bitcoin to their own wallet. Preorders start at $899, with shipments expected in Q1 2027. At current network economics, estimated gross mining revenue is about $1.25 per day at full capacity, though earnings vary with Bitcoin’s price and mining difficulty. Heatbit presents the product as a way to use electricity that would otherwise heat water and expand home mining.
