HTX exits UK, leaving customers to request a 48-hour withdrawal window
Summary
HTX has exited the UK after settling the FCA’s case over unlawful financial promotions. UK users can no longer deposit or trade, and new registrations and solicitation have ended. Eligible customers may request a single, approved 48-hour window to withdraw remaining assets, subject to licensing conditions and identity, sanctions, anti-money-laundering and security checks; accounts close after withdrawal. A High Court order requires Huobi Global S.A. to refrain from knowingly making or arranging unlawful promotions through 2031. The settlement includes no admission of wrongdoing, and the FCA’s case is separate from the UK’s later designation of Huobi under Russia sanctions.
