Immutable, King River Capital, Polygon Labs Set Up $100M Web3 Gaming Fund
Web3 gaming developer platform Immutable and venture capital firm King River Capital have partnered to establish a $100 million "Inevitable Games Fund" (IGF), with support from Polygon Labs. The IGF aims to target high-growth opportunities in Web3 gaming for professional and sophisticated investors. The fund's management will be divided, with Immutable and Polygon Labs identifying investment opportunities and King River overseeing the investment process and capital deployment across game studios and Web3 infrastructure companies. The fund aims to capitalize on the growing Web3 gaming industry, which has attracted approximately $19 billion in investments since 2018. Web3 gaming involves video games hosted on blockchains, potentially allowing players to own their in-game assets as non-fungible tokens (NFTs) or other digital property.
