Italy’s biggest bank triples staked Ether ETF holdings while cutting IBIT shares
Summary
Intesa Sanpaolo increased its exposure to crypto ETFs in Q2, tripling its stake in the iShares Staked Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHB) to 349,600 shares worth $7.1 million as of June 30, up from 116,200 shares in March. It also kept ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF (ARKB) as its largest crypto-linked holding, with 3.47 million shares valued at $67.6 million, though that position fell about 4% from Q1. At the same time, the bank sharply reduced its iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT) holding by about 94%, to 40,723 shares from 646,809. Other positions were mixed: Grayscale XRP Trust ETF (GXRP) stayed unchanged, BitGo nearly doubled, and Coinbase was trimmed. Crypto ETFs let institutions gain digital-asset exposure through regulated products.
