Japan’s SBI leads $68M Fasset round at $1B valuation

Summary

Fasset raised $68 million in a Series C round led by Japan’s SBI Group at a $1 billion valuation. The round follows its $51 million Series B in May, bringing total funding raised in 2026 to $119 million. SBI said it made an additional investment after first backing Fasset in May and plans to raise its stake further through warrants, with Fasset expected to become an equity-method affiliate after the deal closes. SBI and Fasset also plan to jointly operate a digital bank in Malaysia and distribute Fasset-issued tokens. Fasset will use the new capital to expand Own Network, its infrastructure linking banks, payment firms, liquidity providers and other financial institutions across more than 100 banking corridors, and to invest more in AI systems for stablecoin settlement, tokenization and cross-border banking.
