Machi Big Brother sells 3 Bored Apes to cut his Ethereum long in 52%, but liquidation moved to just $22 away
Public data shows a month-long reduction in the leveraged Ethereum long linked to the address Lookonchain tracks as Machi Big Brother. By Aug. 14, the position had shrunk to 2,500 ETH from 5,264 ETH on July 14, while the liquidation price stayed uncomfortably close to market, with Ethereum trading only about 1.21% above the reported liquidation level at one timestamp. Hyperliquid fill data shows three July 31 close-long trades that cut 1,708 ETH and realized about $96,301 in losses. Over the same period, the liquidation price moved higher as the position size fell, then eased slightly after another 300 ETH was removed. Lookonchain also reported three Bored Ape sales at large losses, suggesting attempts to raise funds or support the long: #251, #5670, and #5715 were all sold well below purchase prices. The public record supports the timing, size, and losses of both the NFT sales and the position changes, but does not prove a direct causal link between any specific sale and the account’s survival.
