Charles Schwab Expands Crypto Trading Beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum
Charles Schwab plans to add Solana, Avalanche, and Chainlink to its crypto trading platform in the coming months, expanding beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum. The move follows its recent rollout of direct Bitcoin and Ethereum trading to select retail clients. Schwab said customers will be able to buy and sell the new cryptocurrencies on its website, mobile app, and thinkorswim platform, with a 0.75% trading fee. The firm framed the expansion as part of giving clients more digital-asset choices within its existing investing and banking platform, supported by education and tools. Schwab had previously offered crypto exposure only through exchange-traded products and public-company shares. It also continues to explore other digital-asset products, including a potential dollar-pegged stablecoin.
