Bitcoin at $400K by 2030 Still 'Reasonable Target': Coinbase CEO
Brian Armstrong said Bitcoin could still reach $400,000 by 2030, calling it a reasonable target despite BTC trading near $77,000. He argued Bitcoin’s four-year cycle is nearing the end of its down phase and said the next one to two years should be positive, especially with the next halving about 18 months away. On regulation, he said the Clarity Act is likely to pass the Senate and that most major objections have been resolved. The main unresolved issue is ethics rules around the president’s family crypto ties. Even if the bill fails, he expects the SEC and CFTC to issue rules and exemptions soon. He said clearer U.S. rules would enable tokenized equities, perpetual futures, and broader crypto offerings. Coinbase is already preparing for this with tokenized stock plans and crypto perps as part of its push to become an “everything exchange.”
