CME Expands Crypto Futures Lineup With Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap

Summary

CME Group plans to launch regulated futures for Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Uniswap (UNI) on October 19, pending regulatory review. The contracts will come in standard and micro sizes: BCH futures will represent 250 BCH, with micro contracts for 25 BCH; UNI futures will cover 10,000 UNI, with micro contracts for 1,000 UNI. This would expand CME’s crypto lineup to 11 single-asset futures products, alongside Bitcoin, Ether, XRP, Solana, Cardano, Chainlink, Stellar, Avalanche, and Sui. The move reflects growing demand for regulated crypto derivatives. CME says its earlier altcoin futures have already driven strong activity, with significant notional volume and open interest across its crypto complex. BCH is a Bitcoin fork focused on cheaper payments, while UNI is the governance token for Uniswap, the largest decentralized exchange. CME framed the contracts as capital-efficient tools for managing digital-asset price risk in a regulated venue.
