MANTRA token sinks 18% to record low amid blockchain halt
MANTRA’s token fell sharply, dropping 18.5% from its 24-hour high to a record low near $0.004126 before recovering slightly to about $0.0044. Trading volume surged nearly 600% to $24 million. Around the same time, MANTRA Chain stopped producing blocks and the project halted the network as a precaution after reporting an unexplained incident. The team said it did not yet know the root cause or when the network would restart, and all endpoints and transactions were frozen. The outage affected public endpoints, validators, bridge migration operations, and MANTRA-managed IBC relays. Exchanges responding to the halt paused deposits and withdrawals. MANTRA has not said whether the token drop was linked to the incident or whether any assets were lost. The project has already faced major turbulence after the collapse of its former OM token in April 2025.
