Musk’s flying Roadster demo triggers a rush of Tesla (TSLA) bets on crypto exchange Hyperliquid
Summary
After Elon Musk unveiled a flying Roadster prototype, Hyperliquid’s Tesla-linked perpetual contract rose about 4.9% to roughly $378, while hourly volume surged from $2.8 million to $47 million. It became the contract’s second-busiest day since listing. Binance had higher 24-hour volume, but Hyperliquid recorded the most open interest. The USDC-settled contract tracks Tesla’s share price, trades around the clock and offers up to 20x leverage, giving traders a way to react while U.S. stock markets were closed. Tesla shares also gained about 4.5% in premarket trading.
