Oman Launches Mandatory National Bitcoin Mining Pool In Sovereign Regulatory Push
Oman is moving toward a state-managed Bitcoin mining model through Omanhash.om, presented as the country’s national mining pool. Enegix Global says it will provide the technical and liquidity infrastructure, while Frontier Technologies LLC manages the pool. Under the proposed framework, Omanhash.om would be the sole official and mandatory pool for licensed cryptocurrency mining companies in Oman. This structure gives Oman tighter oversight of mining activity and ties hash-rate participation to licensing and national infrastructure policy. It also reduces flexibility for miners, since they would not be able to freely choose pools based on fees or payout preferences. The move reflects a broader trend toward treating Bitcoin mining as regulated strategic infrastructure, similar to Kazakhstan’s sovereign mining-pool project. The main question is whether Oman can pair clear rules and affordable energy with enough operational freedom to attract miners.
