Once-largest Ethereum NFT marketplace Blur is shutting down after volumes collapse 99%

Summary

Blur will close its website on Nov. 12 and stop arranging new Blend loans. Borrowers must repay by then or default; a later tool will allow users to withdraw assets. Its Ethereum smart contracts will remain operational, and BLUR holders retain control of the fee switch. Monthly trading volume fell from about $1.43 billion in March 2023 to under $7 million in March 2026. The shutdown follows the announced closure of Blast, another project created by Blur founder Tieshun Roquerre. Blur has not publicly cited operating losses as the reason for its decision. BLUR dropped more than 20% after the announcement.
