Oracle Connects Bank Payment Systems To Swift’s Blockchain Ledger
Oracle is linking banks’ existing payment systems to Swift’s new blockchain ledger so institutions can support tokenized-deposit payments without replacing core infrastructure. Announced at Sibos in Miami, the integration uses Oracle Blockchain Platform for smart contracts, Digital Assets Data Nexus for digital-asset infrastructure, and Oracle Banking Payments to connect blockchain activity with standard ISO 20022 payment processing. The model keeps each bank in control of its own tokenized deposits while Swift acts as a coordination layer across institutions. That interoperability is the key value: a bank-issued token only matters if it can move cleanly across bank boundaries. Oracle’s role is to bridge internal banking systems and blockchain-based payment coordination, letting regulated bank money become more programmable while preserving existing compliance and deposit control frameworks.
