PancakeSwap Infinity hits Base as network hits record TVL

Summary

PancakeSwap Infinity, the latest version of the PancakeSwap decentralized exchange, is now operational on Coinbase’s Ethereum layer-2 network, Base. This launch follows its introduction on BNB Chain in April. Base's total value locked (TVL) has reached $4.295 billion, marking a 33.75% increase since January 1. The decentralized exchange volume on Base hit a record $1.616 billion in the last 24 hours. PancakeSwap Infinity features customizable DeFi pools and a personalized fee structure, promising up to 99% savings on pool creation and about 50% on trading Ether against ERC-20 tokens. The update introduces hooks, allowing developers to add custom logic to liquidity pools without altering the core automated market maker. Base has experienced increased activity, processing over 1,000 transactions per second in May and attracting institutional interest from JPMorgan’s blockchain division for its deposit token pilot.
