Pectra Upgrade On The Horizon: Ethereum Set For Significant Changes In Mid-March
Ethereum (ETH) is set for the Pectra Upgrade in mid-March, the largest in its history, introducing several Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs) aimed at enhancing network functionality. EIP-7702 will simplify user transactions by allowing actions to be executed in a single transaction. EIP-7251 increases the maximum effective balance for validators from 32 ETH to 2048 ETH, enabling earlier staking rewards and consolidating validator management. EIP-7691 addresses scalability by increasing blob throughput, while EIP-7623 raises calldata costs for rollups to optimize resource use. EIP-7002 facilitates trustless validator withdrawals, and EIP-7685 improves communication between execution and consensus layers. EIP-2537 enhances cryptographic efficiency for zero-knowledge operations. Despite these advancements, Ethereum's price remains stable around $3,200 to $3,300, lacking significant catalysts for growth.
