Public wallet logs expose founder histories, and Zcash group demands fix
Pretty Good Policy for Zcash urged the SEC to let issuers support fundraising claims with evidence tailored to what must be verified, rather than exposing unrelated wallet activity. Its comment on the proposed Regulation Crypto Assets asks the agency to recognize accounting records, cryptographic proofs and selective disclosure, while clarifying that network-valid transactions alone do not prove how investor funds were spent. It also seeks consistent privacy protections for wallet addresses and supporting records, without hiding material holdings, conflicts or investor-relevant information. Auditors and regulators should retain access to underlying records, and applicable audit standards would remain in force. The SEC proposal remains under consideration; these are requests for the final rules, not adopted requirements.
