Ravencoin hits record low as network exploit puts transactions at risk
Ravencoin hit a new all-time low after a consensus vulnerability allowed invalid blocks to be accepted by some nodes, putting several days of transactions at risk. The price fell to $0.002754 before recovering slightly, while trading volume surged during the sell-off. Ravencoin said the first known invalid block appeared at height 4,487,776, and more followed after the flaw was shown on mainnet. Major mining pools 2Miners and RavenMiner are building an alternate chain that excludes the exploited branch. If that chain becomes dominant, the network could reorg by roughly three days, potentially reversing transactions confirmed after block 4,487,775. The project advised exchanges to suspend deposits and withdrawals until the chain stabilizes, and Upbit and Bitget halted RVN transfers.
