Ripple Excites XRP Army as Metaco Acquisition Brings Banks Closer

Summary

Ripple's acquisition, the Swiss digital assets custody firm Metaco, is collaborating with HSBC, one of the world's largest banks, stirring excitement in supporters of Ripple's ledger protocol, also known as the "XRP army". They perceive this as another signal that financial institutions will adopt XRPL and, notably, the XRP token. Adrien Treccani, Metaco's CEO, points out a correlation between Ripple protocols and Metaco's banking clients. He says every Ripple's success prompts further adoption of the XRPL as a protocol. Treccani adds that partnering Metaco with Ripple offers a comprehensive vertical stack including an infrastructure and services layer. However, rumors post-Metaco's acquisition suggest some banking clients contemplate shifting their business due to Ripple's issue with the US SEC. Treccani dismisses them as normal speculations after acquisitions and claims they have had success in clarifying these issues with the banks. He also anticipates banks will adopt cryptocurrency services with time, and being prepared for tokenization now will facilitate their entry into the cryptocurrency landscape.
