Ripple Partner Thunes Unveils Development That Could Strengthen XRP’s Global Payment Narrative

Summary

Thunes’ new US real-time payment launch may strengthen Ripple’s cross-border settlement network. Through a direct connection to a Tier 1 financial institution, Thunes now supports ACH, Same-Day ACH, and real-time payment rails in the US. With 50 Money Transmitter Licenses, it can operate across all US states and territories, giving it broad regulatory reach similar to Ripple’s. Thunes’ network spans 140 countries, 90 currencies, and over 12 billion endpoints. After expanding its partnership with Ripple, it integrated Ripple payments into its global network and uses Ripple blockchain infrastructure and XRP as a bridge asset. That creates a direct path from more than 140 countries into US banking and settlement rails. Separately, the XRP Ledger’s tokenized real-world asset market has surpassed $3 billion. Growth is increasingly centered on tokenized cash-like assets, especially money market funds and US Treasury bills, with broader institutional adoption expected to drive further expansion.
