Stablecoin transaction volume hits record $1.79T in June

Summary

Adjusted stablecoin transaction volume reached a record $1.79 trillion in June, up 63% from May and 125% year over year, according to Visa’s analytics dashboard. The jump beat February’s prior record and points to rising real-world use in payments, DeFi, and cross-border transfers, even amid a broader crypto bear market. USDC dominated activity, accounting for about 67% of volume at $1.21 trillion, while USDT made up about 32% at $576 billion. PYUSD ranked a distant third with $2.42 billion. By network, Base led with $565 billion, followed closely by Ethereum at $562 billion, then Tron at $320 billion. Visa’s figures use an adjusted methodology designed to filter out bot activity, exchange treasury movements, and repeated smart contract transactions, aiming to better capture organic stablecoin usage.
