StanChart joins ESMA's first MiCA register update since deadline
Summary
ESMA updated its MiCA register after the transitional period ended, adding 37 licensed crypto-asset service providers and bringing the total to 280 from 243. New entries include Standard Chartered, FalconX, Sygnum Europe, Ronin EM, and CACEIS for electronic money tokens. Standard Chartered also received an EMI license, expanding its regulated digital asset and payment services in Europe. Cyprus led new authorizations with six CASPs, followed by France, Italy, and Malta with five each. Germany’s BaFin still has the most MiCA authorizations overall with 58. No new asset-referenced token issuers were added, and the non-compliant entity list stayed unchanged at 162.
