Tether Wins Mining Industry Support For Its Open Automation Toolkit
Tether announced an open software framework, MDK, backed by 15 mining-industry participants including Bitdeer, Bitmain, Canaan, MicroBT, Foundry and Block’s Proto. It is designed to connect mixed mining equipment through adapters, a core runtime and an application gateway, potentially reducing custom integration work as sites change hardware. Public documentation includes a mock-hardware demo, but simulated testing does not establish safe or reliable control of live mining sites. The announcement is not a purchase order or evidence of deployment across participants’ facilities. MDK has also reported no universal savings or margin gains; its impact will depend on maintained integrations, successful installations and measured operating results.
