Uniswap launches TJAR fee tool, but only fast searchers capture the hidden arbitrage profit
Uniswap’s Token Jar lets apps convert accumulated fee tokens into a chosen payment, such as USDC or USDG, by allowing searchers to claim selected assets for a fixed amount. Operators set the payment token, threshold and destination; the system does not price holdings or adjust payments automatically. Searchers may profit when claimed assets exceed the payment and execution costs, while operators risk giving up surplus value, especially after large deposits. Lower thresholds can clear jars more often but increase price exposure; higher thresholds may reduce that risk while leaving assets unconverted longer. Robinhood already uses TJAR for fees collected through Uniswap’s API. Uniswap’s protocol-fee deployment is separate and uses UNI sent to a burn address; TJAR’s optional protocol fee is currently unset.
