U.S. Financial Industry to Explore Sharing Ledger Technology for Multiasset Transactions
Major companies like Citi, JPMorgan, Mastercard, Swift, and Deloitte are collaborating on a research project called Regulated Settlement Network (RSN) to explore sharing ledger technology for multiasset transactions in U.S. dollars. The project aims to bring commercial-bank money, wholesale central-bank money, and securities to a common regulated venue. The New York Innovation Center of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York will observe the project. The participants are not committed to future phases of research, and the findings will be published once concluded. The program will be managed by the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA), with other participants including TD Bank N.A., U.S. Bank, USDF, Wells Fargo, Visa, and Zions Bancorp.
