World Chain, Sam Altman’s Layer-2 Project, Opens to Developers

The developer firm Tools For Humanity has opened its upcoming layer-2 chain, World Chain, for developers to use. The firm is using Optimism’s OP Stack, a toolkit for building blockchains, to create its own network. World Chain is expected to be available to users later this summer, with no plans for a user testnet. The project will also operate Reth, a new Ethereum client software developed by venture capital firm Paradigm, in shadow mode. Tools for Humanity will commit engineering resources to prepare Reth for mainnet. Paradigm has stated that Reth will accommodate a broad user base, including layer-2 networks like Optimism.
