Zondacrypto boss seeks leniency for testimony on political ties: Report
Przemysław Kral, head of collapsed crypto exchange Zondacrypto, has reportedly been charged in an alleged large-scale fraud case and is cooperating with Polish prosecutors in hopes of a reduced sentence. His testimony may include details about Zondacrypto’s financing of right-wing politicians. Prosecutors estimate customers lost at least 2.4 billion Polish zlotys ($650 million), alleging that only part of customer funds was used to buy crypto while the rest was moved into private accounts controlled by managers. Kral has denied misappropriating funds, saying the exchange could not access a cold wallet holding about 4,500 BTC and that the private keys were supposed to come from founder Sylwester Suszek, who has been missing since 2022. Zondacrypto also spent heavily on political-adjacent advertising and sponsorships in Poland.
