‘A New Frontier’: DeLorean Launches On-Chain Car Marketplace With Patrick Stewart
Sir Patrick Stewart has partnered with the DeLorean Motor Company to launch The DeLorean Marketplace on the Sui blockchain, aimed at modernizing the reservation, management, and resale of high-end cars. The marketplace will tokenize build slots for the new Alpha 5 EV, allowing users to trade them. The Alpha 5 features iconic gull-wing doors and represents a return to vehicle production after over 40 years. The blockchain platform ensures transparency and security, providing an immutable ledger for each vehicle's history. A native token, $DMC, will be introduced for staking and rewards. Build slots are available as NFTs for $2,500, credited toward the Alpha 5's cost. Lower-numbered slots will have priority for earlier delivery and potential future premiums. NFT holders can customize their vehicles, influencing design aspects. Production is set to begin later.
