Alphabet, Microsoft add objections to OKX-ICE proposed tokenized stock platform

Summary

OKXICE, a proposed tokenized-stock trading venture between OKX and Intercontinental Exchange, has received 16 issuer objection notices, including from Microsoft, Alphabet and Goldman Sachs. The notices give no reasons; an expert suggested issuers may be concerned about how tokenized shares’ prices would behave. Co-chair Andrew Cuomo said companies may simply prefer to wait and see. About 25% of the 62 companies proposed for the platform have objected. The planned service would trade 24/7 through permissioned Uniswap v4 pools on XLayer, with shares paired against USDT, USDC or USDG.
