Altcoin profit share sinks to 12% as short-term traders take losses
Summary
Glassnode reported that by late October, short-term holders were selling at a profit in only about 12% of more than 300 tracked tokens, down from roughly 80% in late September; typical tokens’ recent holders were instead realizing small losses. Separately, BlockchainCenter’s Nov. 4 Altcoin Season Index stood at 41, showing fewer than half of its eligible top 50 coins had outperformed Bitcoin over 90 days. The measures cover different token groups and periods, and neither establishes whether altcoin selling is nearing exhaustion or whether fresh demand is returning. A stronger recovery signal would require improving holder profitability and broader outperformance against Bitcoin.
