Andrew Cuomo to lead joint TradFi-crypto venture between OKX and Intercontinental Exchange
OKX and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), owner of the New York Stock Exchange, named former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo as co-chair of a new joint venture focused on digital assets. The project aims to build infrastructure for tokenized and digitally native financial products and could let OKX users access ICE futures and NYSE tokenized equities, pending regulatory approval. Cuomo, who lost New York City’s 2025 mayoral race, had campaigned as a crypto-friendly candidate and began working with OKX in 2023. The announcement builds on a March partnership in which ICE invested in OKX at a $25 billion valuation. ICE has also expanded its crypto-related bets, including a pledge tied to Polymarket. New York’s current mayor, Zohran Mamdani, has not announced major crypto policy changes and says he holds no digital assets.
