Animoca's NUVA opens $460B U.S. HELOC market to non-U.S. crypto investors
NUVA, founded by Animoca Brands and Nuva Labs, launched HOME, an ERC-20 token giving eligible non-U.S. investors exposure to a managed pool of Figure-originated U.S. home-equity lines of credit, starting from 1 USDC. The product targets a 7% annual return, reset monthly, with performance reflected in the vault’s net asset value. Investors own tokens representing pooled exposure, not individual loans. The initial portfolio will apply borrower and geographic limits, and a roughly 5% first-loss segment is designed to absorb losses before they reach token holders. Withdrawals can be requested anytime and are expected to take about two U.S. business days, though larger redemptions may depend on loan sales. The launch aims to bring private residential credit into DeFi, while carrying credit and liquidity risks.
