Binance France CEO Targeted in Home Invasion Attempt: Report
Three criminals attempted to rob the residence of Binance France CEO David Prinçay but only stole two cell phones before fleeing. Prinçay was not home during the incident. The assailants, who mistakenly entered a different residence in the building first, were tracked using CCTV and public transport surveillance before being arrested by police at Lyon Perrache train station. Binance confirmed that Prinçay and his family are safe and is cooperating with authorities as the investigation continues. This attempted robbery is part of a broader surge in violent, crypto-related physical attacks in France, known as “wrench attacks,” which have sharply increased in frequency and severity. France has seen 11 out of 14 such incidents in the EU this year, with related crypto losses reaching nearly $41 million in 2025, according to CertiK.
