Binance hackers move 81% of stolen Solana, route funds via THORChain
The attackers behind the $6.3 billion Binance hack have moved about 81% of the 970,522 stolen SOL, with Arkham tracking 182,443 SOL worth $16.9 million in identified wallets. They reportedly split funds across wallets, converted SOL to USDC, bridged to Ethereum, then swapped ETH for Bitcoin through THORChain. The FBI attributed the hack to North Korea’s TraderTraitor group and urged crypto services, including THORNode operators, to block related transactions. Binance said it replenished 98% of affected tokens and would absorb losses. THORChain’s temporary service halt delayed laundering, but swaps resumed Wednesday. Chainalysis estimated roughly $500 million had moved through Tron, while an investigator said many Tron and Solana transfers were automated.
