Bitcoin Bounces Over $43K, Altcoins, Crypto Stocks Burst Higher as Fed Projects Rate Cuts Next Year
Bitcoin (BTC) leaped over $43,000 on Wednesday following Monday's sharp plummet, pulling up the crypto market as well as digital asset-centric companies. This rally came after the Federal Reserve signaled prospective interest rate cuts for 2024. While rates remain at 5.25%-5.5%, forecasts suggest a decrease to 4.6% by the end of 2024, equating to roughly three 25 basis point cuts. Bond yields and the U.S. dollar index fell on this announcement, boosting a broad market rally that included cryptocurrencies. Higher capitalization tokens experienced approximately 10% gains. Additionally, crypto-related stocks saw a similar upswing; Coinbase reported almost an 8% increase at the close of its trading session, and MicroStrategy saw a 5% increase. Bitcoin miners listed in the U.S. experienced a rise between 8%-16% throughout the day.
