Bitcoin Core’s privacy fix reaches v32 code while the v31 patch remains open
Summary
Bitcoin Core merged a privacy fix into its 32.x development branch to prevent peer-discouragement behavior from exposing links between private-broadcast connections and ordinary node activity. The fix keeps private-broadcast peers out of normal discouragement handling while still disconnecting misbehaving private peers. The 31.x backport remains open, so users on the latest stable release, 31.1, are still waiting for the repair; its 31.2 milestone does not set a release date. Private broadcast is disabled by default and marked experimental. The change addresses observable peer-handling effects, distinct from an earlier fix for connections that could bypass a configured privacy network.
