XRPL’s $1.34 billion stablecoin base doesn’t tell us how much XRP users need
Summary
XRPL’s tracked stablecoin total reached $1.338 billion on Oct. 7, with RLUSD accounting for 93.17%. But stablecoin supply, trading volume, and fees do not directly measure demand for XRP. Fees and account reserves require XRP, while tokenized assets can use stablecoins or other assets as principal. XRP may also be needed temporarily for bridge trades or held in XRP-funded liquidity pools and lending vaults. The scale of that demand depends on how much activity routes through XRP, how much XRP intermediaries and pools retain, and how long it stays committed. Available ecosystem totals do not quantify incremental XRP demand per dollar of activity.
