Bitcoin crashes through $81,000 buy wall as $1 billion crypto liquidation bloodbath unfolds
Summary
Bitcoin fell to around $80,744 as a crypto-wide selloff triggered $1.16 billion in 24-hour liquidations, including about $1 billion in bullish positions. Nearly $700 million was liquidated in four hours. Ethereum led major assets in liquidation losses at roughly $324 million, while Bitcoin accounted for $240 million; Solana, XRP and other tokens also declined. CryptoQuant data showed short-term Bitcoin holders sent more than 50,000 BTC to exchanges at a daily peak, with 29,500 BTC transferred at a loss. Glassnode identified buy orders around $81,000–$81,250 as a potential support zone, but warned that bids could be withdrawn or overwhelmed. A break below it could expose Bitcoin to further downside and deeper liquidation clusters.
