Bitcoin price eyes $66K as US stocks rise on Iran-strike pause
Bitcoin rose toward $66,000 at the Wall Street open as US stocks and crypto moved higher on easing Iran-related tensions and a temporary risk-on shift. Reports that Iran and Oman were working on maritime traffic mechanisms through the Strait of Hormuz helped push oil lower, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq gained about 0.3%. Despite higher US bond yields, QCP Capital said digital assets have outperformed equities in July, with BTC and ETH up about 11.6% and 24.6% month-to-date. The firm also pointed to attention on the proposed CLARITY Act as a potential regulatory catalyst. Technically, Bitcoin is holding support at the 21-day and 50-day simple moving averages around $64,289 and $63,261, but the setup remains fragile. Traders want a sustained move above $66,000–$67,000 for stronger confirmation. Short liquidations climbed toward $250 million over 24 hours as prices rose.
